more than a year ago a public preview copy of this reel been was screened and the public since didn't like it too much so it was recut delayed due to what seems Rodriguez's work on SpyKids 3D or other mysterious studio reasons, and now all this time after it finished shooting  it's released for all of us to watch and I'd have to say it delivers , just not in the way you expect it to.

Although many of the elements which made El Mariachi and it's big brother Desperado the films they're are still to be found in this sequel , it's missing what made the previous so likeable and gained it a status of one of the more fun action flicks : gun play ,porch gun ,porch play , cool songs , a small scaled atmosphere that felt as a gringofull western and revenge that truly feels revengeful.

This film is different , ohh yeah it's , you'll find plenty more of locations here to which you'll have no sympathy to ,the large scale was just wrong to maintain what made desperado different,  heck due to the quantity of the characters you won't find even sympathy with any of them but perhaps with Johnny Depp's twisted CIA (agent) who you'll enjoy watching give away money in boxsets of popular bands and walking around wearing goofy shirts.

Some of you girls may sympathize with the role of Enrique and to you girls I wish a breast cancer, or at least wish him; you see sure jealous I am but they really should have killed him only for the sake of Dead-Mariachi-Partners tradition.

Antonio makes some sad/mad faces , plays the guitar and drops a punch line here and there that's the essence of his performance and that's also a shame he was just so much more believable as a character in desperado.

Defoe's character isn't given enough time , Rourke and his midget dog are quite entertaining and so is Cheech and the action scenes containing Selma.

Lets talk about the story , the mess it makes at least .. wouldn't deny it has great ideas but chunks of it even feel as they've been added only because they're good ideas , not because they fit... it could have been more coherent but don't think many will have trouble following the plot.

Rodriguez knows his stuff with camera work and as you'll notice he experimented quite a plenty with this flick , few flaws been made due to it's digitally shot experiment but them wouldn't trouble an untrained eye and since what have been achieved compensates any of the sacrificed.

El Music is quite a downfall from the previous installment to missing my friends Los Lobos and catchy melodies but don't get me wrong some scenes got wonderful tunes that set on the mood just right.

The patriotic nature of the whole presidente saving thing might make some proud but it felt quite lame to me, I wouldn't go watch this one for the action scenes but I would go watch it to see the twistfullness and laugh.
