Despite how much you despite school trips.. this a film that will bring nostalgia.

Rednecks and horror just work together .. tremors is a great example of that not, so is the New-Zealandish masterpiece the "Undead"  not to mention the redneckness in Texas chainsaw massacre..

These same elements of the classic horror flicks are here and they set the mood just right , claustrophobia is there but so is the agoraphobia caused by a wingy creature and his girly hat.

But there isn't only that since there's a actually a vengeance driven hunt which balances the film and turns it into a film full of Moby Dick reference.

Ray Wise (the guy some of you might recognize from Twin Peaks) is the Ahab here and his freaky performance is quite entertaining.

What I liked about the teen characters is that even with their typical appearance on surface there actually was character development underneath it, not too much of it but it gets the job done than the catchy irritating 'thing' teen characters get in many genres, in jeepers creepers they just feel as "lil' people" and not "stupid people".

Cinematographically wise it has an effective camera work and use of filters, very few moments the camera remains static.

It's actually a sequel , like terminator2 a film very different from the one started it (not "the original") because it's a film very original in it's own way; it doesn't requires you to watch the prequel to appreciate it, it's just that you missed a progressively unveiling introduction of a creature which I find one of grooviest in horror of many recent years, that if you haven't watched Jeepers Creepers.

Orchestral soundtrack was a wise choice and the music represents every scene in it's sinister way adding tension and mystery to when it's needed and actually makes some scenes unpredictable, but as usually there will be lots of music that will prepare you for the coming which I find a bad formula for a serious spook.

One of the very few complains is about my dissatisfaction with the somehow lacking (to me) gore ,and don't you get me wrong there's some serious body part chopping , piercing n' lickin' in there, but squirts and streams of blood is what I was missing to enjoy it more, there's just something about this crimson-funny-liquid when it's properly overused in its' quantity that makes you grin.

Also I felt that the visual effects of the wings looked more realistic in the first movie , but they've been barely shown there and memory is a tricky device, is it a device?

I am not asking for a sequel but I wouldn't mind to see one that doesn't recycles but reveals more about the origin of the creature showing what it's capable of.

The creature here is unstoppable, so far there wasn't a way to stop him anyway,  it achieves what it wants and it fulfills it's hunger , you can slow it down but it's all about seeing who/what it wants.

A sequel of however reused idea of following it into the future or tracking it from medieval could work pretty well here.
